FAQ

Yes, at Warsaw by Bike, the reservation process is handled exclusively online and in advance.

To ensure that your chosen model and size are waiting for you, please make a reservation through our website before arriving at the pick-up point. During the high season, we experience very high demand, and our online booking system is the only way to guarantee equipment availability. We do not offer “walk-in” rentals without prior confirmation in the system.

Two things are required for the bike to be issued:

  • Identification document – a valid ID card or passport.
  • Refundable security deposit – collected in cash or as a pre-authorization (hold) on a payment card. The deposit amount depends on the bike model and is specified in our price list and in the description of the selected equipment.

Yes. We offer delivery and collection services throughout Warsaw (e.g., to your hotel or office). This service costs 99 PLN per bike, each way. For larger groups or deliveries outside the city limits, we provide individual quotes – please contact us!

Definitely yes! Warsaw boasts over 850 km of bicycle paths and modern infrastructure. You can safely navigate the city using dedicated bike lanes and counter-flow lanes, or enjoy the unique recreational route along the Vistula River. It is one of the best ways to explore the capital efficiently and enjoyably.

No. Our electric bikes are very intuitive to use. The motor assistance works smoothly and activates while pedaling, which makes riding uphill or against the wind require less effort. Before you set off, our staff will explain how to change the assistance modes so that you feel confident during your ride.

Yes. In Warsaw, transporting a bike by metro, tram, bus, and SKM trains is free of charge. However, please remember that priority in vehicles is given to persons in wheelchairs and those with strollers; the final decision on boarding with a bike rests with the driver or tram operator (e.g., in cases of heavy crowding).

Detailed tips on how to navigate the city in accordance with regulations can be found on our subpage: How to Cycle Safely and Confidently in Warsaw: Your Cycling Savoir-Vivre

Our bikes are regularly serviced, but unexpected events can happen. In the event of a breakdown, please contact us immediately by phone or via WhatsApp. If you are in Warsaw, we will try to assist you on-site, replace the bike, or direct you to the nearest service point. Remember, do not attempt to repair the bike yourself without contacting us first!

Yes, helmets are available at our location, and their use is required by law for children.

  • Adults: For persons over 16, a helmet is not mandatory but is highly recommended, especially when cycling in city traffic.
  • Rental: We provide helmets in various sizes for a fee of 10 PLN/day.
  • Booking: You can add them to your order during online reservation or pick them up on-site when collecting your equipment.
  • Children and Youth (under 16): According to the regulations in effect from 2026, wearing a protective helmet is mandatory.

Compliance: To ensure the safety of our youngest riders and compliance with the law, every cyclist under the age of 16 must wear a helmet while using our bikes.

Unfortunately, we do not offer luggage storage services. Due to logistical and security reasons, please arrange for luggage storage on your own before arriving at the pick-up point. The nearest luggage lockers and “Left Luggage” points can usually be found at train stations (e.g., Warszawa Gdańska or Dworzec Centralny) and at various locations in the city center.

We understand that Warsaw can be engrossing! If you see that you won’t make it by the agreed time, please let us know as soon as possible. We are understanding of delays up to 15 minutes; however, for delays exceeding one hour, we charge for an additional day according to the price list, as your bike may already be reserved for the next person.

Always use the lock provided with the bike. You should lock the bike to fixed infrastructure elements (U-shaped bike racks, railings) in well-lit and monitored areas. Avoid locking the bike by the front wheel only – always loop the lock through the frame.

Yes, the Old Town is accessible to cyclists, but please keep in mind that it is a high-pedestrian-traffic area, and the cobblestone surface (known as “kocie łby”) can be challenging. Please exercise extra caution and always give way to pedestrians.

Of course! We are a family-friendly rental service. We provide bikes tailored to different age groups and heights. We offer children’s bikes with wheel sizes: 16″, 20″, and 24″, as well as comfortable trailers for transporting one or two children.

Not sure which size to choose? We have listed the suggested height range for each bike on our website. If your child is between sizes or you have any doubts – get in touch with us! We will be happy to advise you on which model will be best to ensure the trip is pure pleasure.

Important: In accordance with regulations effective from 2026, every child under the age of 16 is required to wear a protective helmet. You can add helmets to your online reservation.
